Who is Akiba honoring?

AKi­ba Acde­my for achiev­ing 50 years of extra­or­di­nary excel­lence!  This event promis­es to be a beau­ti­ful trib­ute to Akiba:

its his­to­ry, achieve­ments, and con­tri­bu­tion to the Dal­las Jew­ish Community.

Why should I attend?

The Gala brings the com­mu­ni­ty togeth­er and always promis­es to be a fun expe­ri­ence for all who attend at the same time rais­ing impor­tant funds for the school. The Gala pro­vides oppor­tu­ni­ties for social­iz­ing, enjoy­ing good food, and par­tic­i­pat­ing in the live auc­tion. Sim­ply by attend­ing the Gala each of us has a chance to give back. We are try­ing to teach our chil­dren to have a pos­i­tive impact on the world and this is a sig­nif­i­cant and fun oppor­tu­ni­ty to do just that.

How much do tickets cost?

Tick­ets are: $180 per per­son ($80 is tax deductible)

How do I/we become an event sponsor?

Many excit­ing spon­sor­ship oppor­tu­ni­ties are avail­able. We need the sup­port of our patrons, local busi­ness­es and orga­ni­za­tions through Gala Spon­sor­ship. Spon­sor­ing this event not only ben­e­fits our school, but also gives vis­i­bil­i­ty for busi­ness­es through the spon­sor­ship pack­age options detailed in the enclosed Spon­sor­ship lev­el options

How do I/we advertise in the Gala Historical Publication?

The Gala Jour­nal is a great place to adver­tise your busi­ness or take out a per­son­al ad to write a spe­cial mes­sage. This com­mem­o­ra­tive Trib­ute Jour­nal will fea­ture many stu­dents and fam­i­lies that have been a part of the school com­mu­nity over the years, as well as high­light our many gen­er­ous sup­port­ers and his­tor­i­cal and cur­rent school pic­tures through­out. We have sev­er­al adver­tis­ing options for the Gala Jour­nal. Please approach fam­i­ly, friends, and area busi­ness­es, any­one with whom you do busi­ness in sup­port of our 50th Anniver­sary Inspire! Gala.

How can I contribute an auction item?

The Gala Auc­tion Com­mit­tee wel­comes any dona­tion to the auc­tion. Dona­tions of prod­uct, ser­vices and gift cards would be appre­ci­at­ed. We encour­age you to be cre­ative. Have ques­tions about an item to donate — con­tact the Devel­op­ment Office at 214–295-3411 or development@akibaacademy.org.

What can I donate?

The suc­cess of the Gala depends upon the gen­er­ous dona­tions of par­ents and friends of Aki­ba. Art, jew­el­ry, kid-relat­ed items, vaca­tion homes, gift cards, elec­tron­ics, sports mem­o­ra­bil­ia, enter­tain­ment and sport­ing event tick­ets, ser­vices, home décor, fur­ni­ture, chil­dren’s items (cloth­ing, toys, gifts)… the list of pos­si­bil­i­ties goes on and on! You come up with an idea for an item, we’ll take it!

How does the Silent Auction work?

There will be TWO silent auc­tions: one at school Octo­ber 15, 16 and 17, items at the in-school silent auc­tion will NOT be rep­re­sent­ed at the Gala silent auc­tion, and one at the Gala. This year’s silent auc­tion fea­tures: art, kid-relat­ed items, elec­tron­ics, teacher gifts, stu­dent por­traits, sports items, sports mem­o­ra­bil­ia, cloth­ing, home décor, beau­ty and fit­ness, jew­el­ry, vaca­tion homes and pack­ages, and a vari­ety of services!

How does the Live Auction work?

The Live Auc­tion is one of the high point of the evening. There will be oppor­tu­ni­ties to bid on SIX excit­ing items. Watch the excite­ment grow as friends vie for one-of-a-kind items that are auc­tioned off to the high­est bidder.

I can­not attend this year’s Gala but would like to help. What can I do?

Even if you can­not attend the actu­al event, you can sup­port the Gala by:

- becom­ing a sponsor

- bring­ing in new sponsors

- bring­ing in addi­tion­al ads for our journal

- mak­ing a cash contribution

- donat­ing items or services

- join­ing the vol­un­teer committee

- pay­ing for a teacher’s ticket

- bid­ding on items at the in-school silent auction
